It’s Good to Be Smart!

It's Good to Be Smart! A STEM podcast with Dr. Dave Mulder.

When I was in fifth grade, my teacher, Mr. De Jong, once told me, “It’s good to be smart.” You know what? He was right: it is good to be smart!

Some days I don’t feel very smart—maybe you feel that way too sometimes? But here’s the thing: smart is not something you are; smart is something you become every time you learn something new! And the whole idea of this podcast is just that: you’ll have the chance to learn something new every time you listen.

I was a math and science teacher for many years before I became a professor, and I love to keep learning things about the way this amazing world works. This podcast is a place for us to keep on learning new things all the time! There are so many interesting, curious, mysterious, downright amazing things about this world! If you have your eyes and ears open, you can always learn something new–and get smarter in the process. So that’s the plan for this podcast: each episode will be a short burst of learning, a boost for finding out something fascinating about the way this world works. I’m excited to share fascinating fact and super science stories with you in every episode.

You can subscribe to It’s Good to Be Smart on all the major podcast apps, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon Music. You can also listen directly on Podbean, or using this web player…
